AMD Ryzen 7000 Series Efficiency CPUs

Three more highly efficient processors are joining the AMD Ryzen 7000 Series, and we couldn’t be more excited.

AMD Ryzen 7000 Series Efficiency CPUs

These new CPUs utilise the AM5 socket and follow the 5-star platform established with the first entries to the Ryzen 7000 Series. All can be boosted to over 5.0GHz, each supports DDR5 with AMD EXPO software for tuning, and were made utilising the innovative 5nm process. What sets these new CPUs apart is their maximum thermal design power – each maxing at only 65W. As a result, these latest AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors are incredibly efficient and easy to cool with the included AMD Wraith cooler. Tasty!

High-Efficiency Desktop CPUs

Launching today, we have the AMD Ryzen 9 7900, AMD Ryzen 7 7700, and AMD Ryzen 5 7600 desktop processors. These CPUs have been crafted for high-end, mainstream, and entry-level gaming, respectively, and suit a variety of budgets. Armed with Zen 4 architecture and the latest AMD innovations, each CPU is fully optimised for high-efficiency performance, whether you are gaming, streaming, or creating content. Here is a quick breakdown of their specs, before we take a close look at each model.

Your Guide to AMD Ryzen 7000 Series

Want to brush up on all things AMD Ryzen 7000 and Zen 4? Then check out our helpful guide to this latest series from AMD.

AMD Ryzen 9 7900 CPU

At the top of the range, the AMD Ryzen 9 7900 is all about high-performance in the most demanding AAA games and workflows. Equipped with twelve core and twenty-four threads, this processor can reach speeds up to 5.4GHz and can utilise simultaneous multi-threading technology (SMT). The Zen 4 platform has been future-proofed, helping these processors to stick with your through the next few innovations. Currently, it can support DDR5 RAM and PCIe 5.0, which will work with both graphics cards and storage devices.

What’s more, the AMD Ryzen 9 7900 comes with an AMD Wraith Prism cooler. With its compact sizing and AM4 socket compatibility, this CPU cooler will expertly integrate with a wide range of gaming PCs. Plus, that is not a typo when I say “AM4”. The AM5 socket was specifically designed to be compatible with AM4 coolers, to minimise the number of changes needed in your set-up. Even better than all of that, this cooler is equipped with beautiful RGB lighting and fan speed controls. As such, your thermal solution will be efficient and magnificent.

AMD Ryzen 7 7700

For mainstream gaming and content creation, the AMD Ryzen 7 7700 is the perfect choice. Armed with eight cores, sixteen threads, SMT, Zen 4, AMD EXPO, and so much more, you can get the most out of your favourite AAA titles. Boasting frequencies up to 5.3GHz, this processor is ultra-fast and highly efficient thanks to its 32MB cache which is intelligently split into L1, L2, and L3 tiers. The amount of accessible information is vastly increased, overall optimising workflows and gaming.

Once again, the AMD Ryzen 7 7700 comes with a CPU cooler. Like the Ryzen 9 7900, this model includes the AMD Wraith Prism. To efficiently manage CPU temperatures and keep your gaming PC cool, the design has been optimised to effectively draw heat away. In addition to the adjustable fan speeds, the heat pipes are in direct contact, thus ensuring maximum conductivity. The 65W TDP is nothing to this CPU cooler.

AMD Ryzen 5 7600

Finally, we have the AMD Ryzen 5 7600, which is ideally suited for those looking to upgrade from casual gaming or even just staring out. Sporting six cores and twelve threads, this processor can reach speeds up to 5.1GHz making it an excellent choice for a wide range of games and light content creation. What’s more, thanks to the integrated Radeon RDNA 2 graphics, you can game without a GPU. Whilst we always recommend gaming with a dedicated graphics card – especially if you want to take advantage of innovations like ray tracing and upscaling – onboard graphics are great for entry-level gamers. You can really test the waters before making a big investment!

Unlike the previous two CPUs, the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 comes with the AMD Wraith Stealth CPU cooler. This low-profile cooler is equipped with the same highly efficient thermal performance, from optimised heat pipe contact to controllable fan speeds, making it an excellent choice to maintaining temperatures. The major difference is this is an all-black model and it features no lighting. Perfect for the minimalist set-ups.
